CC Sabathia hall of fame

⚾ Career Dominance & Longevity

Over 19 seasons with Cleveland, Milwaukee, and the Yankees, Sabathia achieved a remarkable 251 wins, 3,093 strikeouts, and pitched 3,577⅓ innings, ranking among the all‑time leaders for left-handers
A six‑time All‑Star, 2007 AL Cy Young Award winner, and 2009 World Series champion, Sabathia also earned ALCS MVP honors in that postseason run

His five‑year peak (2007–2011) delivered 95 wins and over 30 WAR, combining elite performance with iron‑man durability — including eight seasons with 200+ innings.

Community, Character & the Black Aces Legacy

Sabathia was more than statistics. A multi‑sport standout in high school—playing football, basketball, and baseball—he credits his diverse athletic roots with shaping his leadership and team-first mentality.

As one of the few dominant Black pitchers of his generation, Sabathia joins the storied Black Aces— African American pitchers with 20+ wins in a season — offering inspiration both on and off the field.

He remains deeply connected to Cleveland, where he began his career and contributed to youth programs through his foundation, reinforcing the bond between player and city

The Road to Cooperstown

On January 21, 2025, the BBWAA vote was announced: Sabathia had cleared the threshold with 86.8%, joining Ichiro Suzuki and reliever Billy Wagner as the 2025 Hall of Fame class, all elected via BBWAA ballots.

Sabathia’s long-awaited plaque will feature a Yankees cap, reflecting his decade-plus tenure in New York, despite deep ties to Cleveland.
