FRESH DEVELOPMENTS AND PENDING DECISIONS

𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗺𝗮

GAME-TIME DECISION — Freshman running back EJ Crowell is dealing with an ankle injury. His availability will be determined before today’s game against East Carolina.

Crowell is part of a deep Alabama backfield and is not the established starter, so this should not independently cause a major point-spread adjustment.

Running back AK Dear and wide receiver Noah Rogers are not expected to play.

𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮

MONITOR — Wide receiver Landon Sides has been dealing with a hamstring injury and was not included on ECU’s initial depth chart.

Wide receiver Kyler Pearson has dealt with a foot injury, while running back Michael Allen has been managing a leg issue. No definitive game-day clearance was confirmed for those players as of publication.

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮

FRESH AVAILABILITY NEWS — Defensive linemen Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt regained their eligibility through a temporary court order and are permitted to play against North Texas.

Daley recorded 19 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks last season. Wyatt started seven games before a knee injury ended his season. Their availability strengthens Indiana’s defensive front.

𝗟𝗦𝗨

FRESH ROSTER NEWS — LSU left former professional players Dae’Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris off today’s official roster despite receiving a court ruling that could have allowed them to participate.

Neither player was an established LSU starter, so this is notable breaking roster news but not a confirmed major downgrade to LSU’s existing projection against Clemson.

𝗛𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗶𝗶

CONFIRMED OUT — Leading receiver Pofele Ashlock remains unavailable against UNLV. His absence removes Hawaii’s most established receiving weapon.

MONITOR — Running back Cam Barfield is questionable after suffering an ankle injury.

POSITIVE UPDATE — Wide receiver Jarvis Heimuli is not listed on the latest injury report after missing the previous game.

𝗨𝗡𝗟𝗩

CONFIRMED OUT — Starting center Austin Boyd will miss tonight’s game against Hawaii. Boyd is expected to be sidelined beyond this week, forcing UNLV to make a change in the middle of its offensive line.

This is one of today’s more relevant late-game injury situations because it affects offensive communication and interior protection on the road.

𝗢𝗵𝗶𝗼 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲

MONITOR — Running back Bo Jackson is questionable against Ball State because of a shoulder injury.

Ohio State possesses considerable backfield depth, but Jackson’s final status could affect the distribution of carries.

𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗺𝘀𝗼𝗻

MONITOR — Starting receiver T.J. Moore dealt with a lower-body injury during camp. The injury was described as minor, and no fresh report has ruled him out against LSU.

Previously known: Freshman safety Polo Anderson is out for the season. He was expected to contribute but was not an established starter.

𝗢𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗼𝗻

CONFIRMED OUT — Wide receiver Dillon Gresham, linebacker Brayden Platt and defensive lineman Tony Cumberland are expected to be unavailable against Boise State.

MONITOR — Wide receiver Jalen Lott has been considered questionable.

CLEARED — Right guard Dave Iuli and running back Jordon Davison are available. Davison is expected to play without limitations. Wide receiver Evan Stewart and quarterback Dylan Raiola have also been cleared from their previous injuries.

𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗻

CONFIRMED OUT — Offensive tackle Andrew Babalola suffered an ACL setback and will not play against Western Michigan.

CLEARED — EDGE John Henry Daley, safety Rod Moore and EDGE Dominic Nichols are available. Moore is returning from an extended absence and may not immediately be back to his previous form.

𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗮

MONITOR — Tight end Dorian Thomas has been listed as questionable with an undisclosed issue for tonight’s game against UCLA.

No major injury downgrade was confirmed for UCLA as of publication.

𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮

CONFIRMED OUT — Star EDGE Dylan Stewart will miss the Kent State game because of a back injury. Stewart registered 12 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks last season and is South Carolina’s most important pass rusher.

Projected starting left tackle Jacarrius Peak is also out with a knee injury. These are meaningful losses on both sides of the line of scrimmage.

Previously known: Receivers Jayden Sellers and Jayden Gibson are out for the season, reducing South Carolina’s receiving depth.

𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀

CLEARED — All-American left tackle Trevor Goosby is available against Texas State after recovering from a bone bruise in his left knee.

Goosby is expected to start, although Texas could manage his workload after his missed practice time. His return is important for quarterback Arch Manning’s protection.

𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀 𝗔&𝗠

POSITIVE UPDATE — Linebacker Daymion Sanford has made substantial progress from the lower-body injury he suffered during the spring. He participated throughout preseason practice and is expected to be available against Missouri State.

𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮

POSITIVE UPDATE — Starting receiver Vernell Brown III returned to practice after dealing with a bruised foot. He is expected to be available against Florida Atlantic, although Florida could manage his early workload.

𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗼𝗿

CLEARED — Tight end Tony Livingston shed his non-contact jersey, returned to practice and is available against Auburn.

Running back Dawson Pendergrass has also returned to full speed.

Previously known: Defensive back Ashton Jones is out for the season.

𝗔𝘂𝗯𝘂𝗿𝗻

Several Auburn players carried questionable designations earlier in camp, but no reliable fresh report confirmed a major starter being ruled out against Baylor as of publication.

𝗞𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲

MAJOR OFFENSIVE-LINE ABSENCES — All-Big 12 left tackle John Pastore and offensive lineman George Fitzpatrick are out for the season. Offensive lineman Oliver Miller will miss several weeks, while guard Tanner Morley has been considered day-to-day.

Ryan Howard is expected to play left tackle against Nicholls State. The large point spread reduces the immediate betting impact, but Kansas State’s reconstructed offensive line must be monitored moving forward.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱

CONFIRMED OUT — Starting EDGE Zahir Mathis is out for the season with a knee injury.

Mathis produced six sacks and 8.5 tackles for loss as a freshman. Highly regarded freshman Zion Elee is expected to receive an expanded role against Hampton.

𝗧𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗲

CONFIRMED OUT — Starting safety Edrees Farooq is out for the season after suffering a torn patellar tendon. Farooq recorded 76 tackles, four forced fumbles and two interceptions last season.

Linebacker Arion Carter will miss today’s Furman game while serving a one-game suspension.

CLEARED — Tight end Ethan Davis is available.

𝗔𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘀

Previously known: Tight end Maddox Lassiter, defensive lineman J’Lynn Allen and punter Connor Smith are unavailable for the season.

POSITIVE UPDATE — Running back Sutton Smith was limited earlier in camp but was expected to be ready for today’s game against North Alabama.

𝗧𝗲𝘅𝗮𝘀 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵

CLEARED — Thomas Castellanos completed the required acclimation period and is available against Abilene Christian.

MARKET SUMMARY

The most important pending decision is Alabama running back EJ Crowell, although Alabama’s depth limits his individual market value.

The most meaningful confirmed same-game absences are South Carolina EDGE Dylan Stewart and left tackle Jacarrius Peak, UNLV starting center Austin Boyd, Hawaii receiver Pofele Ashlock and Michigan offensive tackle Andrew Babalola.

Indiana received significant positive availability news with Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt cleared to participate. Texas also received an important boost with Trevor Goosby available.

Kansas State’s offensive-line injuries, Maryland’s loss of Zahir Mathis and Tennessee’s loss of Edrees Farooq were previously known. They remain important to team evaluations, but they are not fresh Saturday developments.

For the remaining schools on today’s submitted board, no fresh, high-confidence injury involving a starting quarterback or other major market-moving starter was confirmed as of publication. That does not mean every roster is completely healthy; many programs do not publicly release comprehensive reports for nonconference games.

Final warmups, beat-writer observations and official pregame inactive announcements remain important, particularly for Alabama–East Carolina, Hawaii–UNLV and Clemson–LSU.
