Sunday’s MLB slate looks clean overall, with no major postponement concerns across the 15-game schedule. The biggest weather stories are the extreme heat in Kansas City, wind blowing in at Cleveland and another hot afternoon at Coors Field.
BIGGEST WEATHER IMPACT
Toronto Blue Jays at Kansas City Royals
First pitch: 2:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: 95 degrees, approximately 45% humidity, 8% rain and light 5–7 mph crosswinds.
Kansas City is the game to circle today. It will be around 95 degrees at first pitch and could reach 97 during the middle innings. That kind of heat can help the ball carry while also putting additional stress on the starting pitchers and bullpens. The wind is not especially strong, but the temperature alone makes this one of today’s better offensive environments.

Detroit Tigers at Cleveland Guardians

Cleveland has the strongest pitcher-friendly wind on the board. A steady breeze blowing toward home plate could hold up deeper fly balls and take away some home-run distance. The wind may strengthen slightly as the game progresses, while the rain threat remains low.
HOT AFTERNOON AT COORS
St. Louis Cardinals at Colorado Rockies
First pitch: 3:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: 89 degrees, approximately 25% humidity, 10% rain and 7–8 mph right-to-left crosswinds.
It will be another hot, dry afternoon at Coors Field, with temperatures expected to climb into the low 90s during the game. Add the altitude, and this remains one of the friendliest hitting environments of the day. There is a small chance of a passing shower later, but nothing currently suggests a serious delay threat.
WARM AND BREEZY IN SAN DIEGO
New York Yankees at San Diego Padres
First pitch: 4:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: 83 degrees, approximately 60% humidity, 10% rain and 10–11 mph left-to-right crosswinds.
San Diego will be warmer and breezier than usual. The warm air could provide a little extra carry, although the crosswind is more likely to affect balls in the air than clearly help or hurt the offense. Rain should not be a factor.
Milwaukee Brewers at Cincinnati Reds
First pitch: 12:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: 77 degrees, approximately 65% humidity, no rain and 9–10 mph left-to-right crosswinds.
A comfortable afternoon is expected in Cincinnati. The wind will be noticeable but should blow mostly across the field, keeping its impact on scoring fairly limited. There are no delay concerns.
Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles
First pitch: 1:35 p.m. ET
Forecast: 81 degrees, approximately 47% humidity, no rain and 7–9 mph winds blowing in.
It will be warm and dry at Camden Yards. The temperature is good for carry, but the breeze blowing in should take a little of that advantage away. Overall, this looks like a mostly neutral weather game.
Minnesota Twins at Chicago White Sox
First pitch: 6:20 p.m. ET
Forecast: 73 degrees, approximately 65% humidity, no rain and 8–10 mph left-to-right crosswinds.
Chicago should have clean baseball weather from start to finish. The wind will blow mostly across the diamond and should not provide a strong boost to either hitters or pitchers.
Atlanta Braves at Philadelphia Phillies
First pitch: 1:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: 77 degrees, approximately 60% humidity, 4% rain and 5–7 mph winds blowing in.
There is nothing alarming in Philadelphia. A light breeze blowing in could slightly reduce carry on deeper fly balls, but it is not strong enough to make a major difference.
Los Angeles Angels at Pittsburgh Pirates
First pitch: 1:35 p.m. ET
Forecast: 78 degrees, approximately 55% humidity, no rain and 8–9 mph left-to-right crosswinds.
Pittsburgh should have excellent baseball weather. The breeze will move across the field, and no rain is expected. Weather should stay neutral here.
San Francisco Giants at New York Mets
First pitch: 1:40 p.m. ET
Forecast: 73 degrees, approximately 65% humidity, 14% rain and 6–7 mph winds blowing in.
A brief passing shower cannot be completely ruled out, but the game is not facing a meaningful delay threat. The light wind blowing in gives pitchers a small advantage on balls hit into the air.
Washington Nationals at Los Angeles Dodgers
First pitch: 10:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: 76 degrees, approximately 85% humidity, 20% rain and light 5 mph winds blowing out.
Los Angeles will be warm and unusually humid, with a light breeze toward the outfield. That combination could provide a small boost to carry, although the wind is not strong enough to create a major offensive edge. There is some scattered rain in the area, but a lengthy interruption is not expected.
ROOF-CONTROLLED GAMES
Chicago Cubs at Miami Marlins
First pitch: 1:40 p.m. ET
Hot, humid weather and scattered storms are possible outside, but the retractable roof should make weather a non-factor.
Arizona Diamondbacks at Houston Astros
First pitch: 2:10 p.m. ET
It will be near 90 degrees with storms possible outside the stadium. The retractable roof should keep those conditions from affecting the game.
Tampa Bay Rays at Texas Rangers
First pitch: 2:35 p.m. ET
Temperatures outside could approach 100 degrees. With the game expected to be played under roof-controlled conditions, the extreme heat should not affect play.
Athletics at Seattle Mariners
First pitch: 4:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: 67 degrees, approximately 70% humidity, 1% rain and winds around 7 mph.
Seattle has cool, comfortable conditions with virtually no rain threat. Roof availability provides additional protection, and weather should not influence the game.
BOTTOM LINE
Kansas City is today’s biggest weather game because of the extreme heat. Cleveland’s 12–13 mph wind blowing in is the strongest run-suppressing condition, while the heat and altitude at Coors Field remain favorable for offense. The rest of the schedule looks clean, with no serious delay or postponement concerns.
