NFL Injury Report — Monday, September 28, 2026

Monday’s biggest injury news: Miami lost De’Von Achane for the season, the Giants lost Brian Burns for the season, and Tampa Bay expects Baker Mayfield to miss at least three weeks. Minnesota avoided a long absence for Justin Jefferson, but Josh Oliver needs surgery. Below is the injury situation for all 32 teams entering Week 4. For teams that have not issued a new Monday diagnosis, the last confirmed status is identified as such.

ARIZONA CARDINALS

Cornerback Will Johnson is on injured reserve with a neck injury. Safety Dadrion Taylor-Demerson missed Sunday’s game with a back injury. Cornerbacks Garrett Williams and Starling Thomas V returned to action Sunday after their long recoveries; Max Melton was also active.

ATLANTA FALCONS

Atlanta played Thursday, so it has a longer break before its next game. Starting cornerback A.J. Terrell Jr. remains on injured reserve with a groin injury, and defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand is out for the season following quad surgery. Defensive end Samson Ebukam missed Thursday’s game with a hamstring injury.

BALTIMORE RAVENS

Coach Jesse Minter said centers Ethan Pocic, who injured his knee, and Jovaughn Gwyn, who injured his ankle, are facing longer absences after both left Sunday’s game. Rookie Vega Ioane is in line to continue at center. Left tackle Ronnie Stanley’s toe and receiver Zay Flowers’ hamstring remain worth tracking; Flowers played on a limited snap count Sunday.

BUFFALO BILLS

Cornerback Christian Benford injured his toe against the Chargers and was seen in a walking boot afterward. Buffalo has not established his Week 4 availability. Coach Joe Brady also addressed Josh Allen’s lower-body soreness Monday and expressed no concern about the quarterback’s status.

CAROLINA PANTHERS

Cornerback Jaycee Horn has a significant quad injury and is out indefinitely; injured reserve is under consideration. Cornerback Mike Jackson’s groin, receiver Jalen Coker’s quad and guard Damien Lewis’ elbow are being evaluated. Quarterback Bryce Young is undergoing imaging after lower-body contact, though coach Dave Canales expects him to play.

CHICAGO BEARS

Caleb Williams is out for Monday night with a hamstring strain, and Case Keenum is expected to start against Philadelphia. Tyson Bagent has cleared concussion protocol. Linebacker Noah Sewell and defensive end Shemar Turner are also out for the game.

CINCINNATI BENGALS

Coach Zac Taylor ruled rookie receiver Colbie Young out for Week 4 after a knee injury on Sunday’s opening offensive snap. Receiver Andrei Iosivas is already on injured reserve with a thumb injury. Safeties Bryan Cook, who hurt his ankle, and Kyle Dugger also left Sunday’s game; their availability will become clearer when practice resumes Wednesday.

CLEVELAND BROWNS

Cornerback Tyson Campbell missed Sunday with an ankle injury, but coach Todd Monken said he was close to playing and feels good about his chances for Thursday against Pittsburgh. Guard Teven Jenkins missed the Carolina game with a back injury; Cleveland’s short-week practice reports will determine whether he can return.

DALLAS COWBOYS

Safety Jalen Thompson’s hamstring injury is expected to sideline him for multiple weeks. Fellow safety P.J. Locke is facing at least four weeks out, while Malik Hooker could return sooner. Dallas is also awaiting more information on cornerback Shavon Revel’s knee and defensive tackle Jonathan Bullard’s calf.

DENVER BRONCOS

Running back Jonah Coleman was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury before Sunday’s game. Receiver Marvin Mims Jr. also missed the Rams game with a foot injury. Running backs RJ Harvey and J.K. Dobbins had returned to full practice participation and carried no game designation going into Sunday.

DETROIT LIONS

Cornerback D.J. Reed was removed from Sunday’s game by the medical spotter but returned in the fourth quarter. Safety Thomas Harper was placed on injured reserve before the Jets game, and guard Ben Bartch missed it with a foot injury. Detroit has not announced a new absence for Reed.

GREEN BAY PACKERS

Green Bay placed offensive lineman Zach Bako-Bewele on injured reserve Monday after his knee injury. Receiver Jayden Reed missed Thursday’s game with a neck injury, as did guard Aaron Banks with knee and toe injuries. Their next practice participation will provide the clearest update on a return.

HOUSTON TEXANS

Defensive tackle Mario Edwards injured his knee and did not return against Indianapolis. Receiver Nico Collins missed that game with a hamstring injury, while guard Ed Ingram was out with a groin injury. Houston has not yet given a new Week 4 timetable for those players.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

Coach Shane Steichen said defensive end Laiatu Latu has a chest contusion after leaving and returning to Sunday’s game; he expects Latu to be fine. Kicker Spencer Shrader is dealing with a groin issue but is also expected to be fine. Receiver Ashton Dulin is progressing from the ankle injury that kept him out the past two games.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

Rookie defensive tackle Albert Regis was inactive against New England after an elbow injury landed him on Friday’s report. Jacksonville has not given a new return date. The team’s first Week 4 practice report will show whether he can rejoin the defensive-line rotation.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Coach Andy Reid said the Chiefs came through Sunday’s win without a new significant injury. Left tackle Josh Simmons has yet to play because of a back injury, and Reid did not commit to a Week 4 return. Reid said safety Chamarri Conner, who has been managing a knee injury, has a good chance to return this week.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

Receiver Jack Bech broke his forearm Sunday and is expected to go on injured reserve. Offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson also left the Saints game with a groin injury. Those are the two developments to watch as Las Vegas prepares for Kansas City.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Cornerback Donte Jackson suffered a concussion and was ruled out during Sunday’s loss to Buffalo; he must clear protocol before returning. The Chargers were also without guard Kayode Awosika, tight end Charlie Kolar, defensive back Elijah Molden and tackle Trey Pipkins for that game.

LOS ANGELES RAMS

Cornerback Jaylen Watson left Sunday night’s Denver game with a shoulder injury, and tight end Terrance Ferguson aggravated an ankle injury. Coach Sean McVay did not have a postgame timetable for either player. Receiver Puka Nacua remained inactive with a hip injury, his second straight missed game.

MIAMI DOLPHINS

Running back De’Von Achane tore his ACL against Kansas City and is out for the season. Miami placed him on injured reserve Monday. That is a major change to the Dolphins’ backfield entering Week 4.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Coach Kevin O’Connell said receiver Justin Jefferson avoided a long-term injury after spraining his ankle Sunday; playing in Week 4 remains possible. Tight end Josh Oliver tore his biceps and will undergo surgery. Cornerback Charles Demmings also exited the Tampa Bay game with a hamstring injury.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Defensive lineman Christian Barmore left Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury. Guard Greg Van Roten left with a thigh injury, and coach Mike Vrabel said Monday that the team is awaiting further tests on Van Roten. Starting guard Mike Onwenu is already on injured reserve with an ankle injury, making the interior line a pressing concern.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

Coach Kellen Moore said running back Travis Etienne will miss time with the hamstring injury he suffered Sunday. The team is still evaluating whether injured reserve is necessary. Linebacker Pete Werner also left the Raiders game after a stinger.

NEW YORK GIANTS

Coach John Harbaugh confirmed that pass rusher Brian Burns tore his ACL on Sunday and is out for the season. Quarterback Jaxson Dart is also out for the season with a knee injury; Jameis Winston started against Tennessee. The Giants acquired J.J. McCarthy from Minnesota on Monday, pending a physical.

NEW YORK JETS

Running back Breece Hall is considered week to week with a quad injury suffered against Detroit. Offensive lineman Dylan Parham left the same game with a knee injury. Hall’s practice status will be particularly important before the Jets’ Week 4 game.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Receiver Marquise Brown is out Monday night with an ankle injury. Tight end Dallas Goedert and tackle Fred Johnson are out with knee injuries, while edge defender Jonathan Greenard is questionable with a pectoral injury. Those are Philadelphia’s current game designations against Chicago.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS

On Monday’s estimated practice report for Thursday’s Browns game, running back Rico Dowdle did not participate because of a toe injury. Cornerback Brandin Echols was limited with a concussion, and cornerback Jalen Ramsey was limited with a wrist injury. Pittsburgh held a walkthrough, so those participation levels are estimates.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

Receiver Mike Evans left Sunday’s game with a rib injury. Left tackle Trent Williams left with a stinger, and linebacker Dre Greenlaw exited with a quad injury; their Week 4 availability still needs practice confirmation. Defensive end Nick Bosa missed Sunday with a calf injury.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Coach Mike Macdonald said starting safety Julian Love is day to day with the calf injury that kept him out Sunday. Safety Ty Okada has also been sidelined by a hamstring injury. Seattle used AJ Finley and Rodney Thomas II in their places against Washington.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

Baker Mayfield dislocated his right thumb Sunday and is expected to miss at least three weeks. Testing showed no fracture or ligament damage. Coach Todd Bowles said rookie Jalon Daniels will start at quarterback in Week 4. Receiver Jalen McMillan also left Sunday’s game with a knee injury.

TENNESSEE TITANS

Tennessee’s right-guard injuries need close attention. Fernando Carmona left Sunday’s game with an ankle injury, and replacement Jackson Slater is being evaluated for what coach Robert Saleh called a significant foot injury. Running back Tony Pollard had entered the Giants game managing an ankle injury.

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS

Coach Dan Quinn said quarterback Jayden Daniels will practice this week and travel to London as he works back
