NFL Injury Report — November 4: Darnold Out, Baltimore Down Two Quarterbacks, Watson in Protocol

Wednesday’s Week 9 report

Thursday’s Jacksonville–Baltimore game has final injury designations. For Sunday’s games, Wednesday participation is an early indicator—not a final ruling. Buffalo and Minnesota play Monday, with their first formal practice reports due Thursday.

ARIZONA CARDINALS

RB Jeremiyah Love and WR Kendrick Bourne are on injured reserve after Sunday’s injuries. Love reinjured his right ankle; Bourne suffered a reported broken leg. Their absences reduce Arizona’s backfield and receiving depth heading into Seattle.

ATLANTA FALCONS

WR Zachariah Branch (hamstring) was a non-participant on Wednesday’s estimated report. RB Brian Robinson Jr. (hamstring) and LB Divine Deablo (forearm) were limited. Atlanta held a walkthrough after arriving in Madrid; these are estimated participation levels, with Sunday availability still unresolved.

BALTIMORE RAVENS

QBs Lamar Jackson (right thumb) and Tyler Huntley (toe) are OUT Thursday, leaving Joe Fagnano to start. S Jaylinn Hawkins (knee) is also OUT. CB Nate Wiggins (stinger/illness) and RB Adam Randall (neck) are QUESTIONABLE. The quarterback losses remain the headline, while Hawkins’ absence and Wiggins’ uncertainty also matter for Baltimore’s coverage.

BUFFALO BILLS

WRs DJ Moore (knee/shoulder) and Joshua Palmer (hamstring), along with RT Spencer Brown (back), are the important availability watches entering the week. Thursday’s first formal report should clarify their progress before Monday’s Minnesota game. No new Week 9 game designation should be inferred yet.

CAROLINA PANTHERS

OLB Jaelan Phillips (hamstring), G Damien Lewis (knee), LB Bobby Okereke (foot) and CB Will Lee III (hamstring) were estimated non-participants. OL Corey Bullock (quadriceps) and G Torricelli Simpkins III (ankle) were limited. The combined offensive-line and defensive absences are more significant than any single listing against Denver.

CHICAGO BEARS

DL Kentavius Street was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. DT Grady Jarrett (groin), RB Kyle Monangai (toe/thumb) and CB Malik Muhammad (toe) remain availability watches after Monday’s game. Street’s loss adds to the concern over Chicago’s defensive-line depth.

CINCINNATI BENGALS

CB DJ Turner II (heel), S Kyle Dugger (quadriceps) and DE Cedric Johnson (ankle/foot) were estimated non-participants. S Jordan Battle (hamstring) was limited. Cincinnati did not practice Wednesday. Multiple secondary injuries are worth watching together before the Madrid matchup with Atlanta.

CLEVELAND BROWNS

QB Deshaun Watson remains in concussion protocol and did not practice. Shedeur Sanders is next on the depth chart, but a quarterback change is not confirmed.

OT Austin Barber (calf), DT Maliek Collins (elbow) and LB Quincy Williams (hamstring) also missed practice. C Elgton Jenkins (knee), DE Jared Verse (knee), LB Carson Schwesinger (wrist/ankle) and WR Denzel Boston (calf) were limited. Cleveland has meaningful concerns beyond quarterback, particularly along both lines.

DALLAS COWBOYS

TE Jake Ferguson (ankle), DB Caleb Downs (concussion/ankle), S P.J. Locke (concussion), OLB Malachi Lawrence (ankle) and WR KaVontae Turpin (ribs) did not practice.

WR George Pickens (hamstring), G Tyler Smith (ankle), TE Luke Schoonmaker (groin) and LB Dee Winters (calf) were limited. Dallas needs progress at tight end and safety; Ferguson’s injury and the two concussion cases are especially important heading into Indianapolis.

DENVER BRONCOS

Safeties Talanoa Hufanga (ankle) and Brandon Jones (hamstring), CB Kris Abrams-Draine (ankle) and DL Eyioma Uwazurike (shoulder) did not practice. The safety situation is the main concern against Carolina, with both Hufanga and Jones beginning the week sidelined.

DETROIT LIONS

LB Jack Campbell (neck), C Cade Mays (ankle), CB D.J. Reed (hip) and EDGE DJ Wonnum (concussion) were estimated non-participants.

DB Brian Branch (concussion), S Kerby Joseph (knee), LB Amen Ogbongbemiga (toe), RB Jacob Saylors (neck) and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (ribs) were limited. Detroit held a walkthrough. The concentration of defensive injuries is substantial, while Mays’ status also matters for the interior offensive line.

GREEN BAY PACKERS

C/G Sean Rhyan (ankle), G/T Travis Glover (knee), LB Zaire Franklin (shin) and TE Josh Whyle (concussion) did not practice. G Aaron Banks (knee), WR Christian Watson (rib), CB Keisean Nixon (shoulder), EDGE Micah Parsons (knee) and RB Chris Brooks (ankle) were limited.

Offensive-line depth and Watson’s receiving availability are key watches. A limited practice for Parsons should not be treated as confirmation that he will play.

HOUSTON TEXANS

RB David Montgomery (groin) and S Reed Blankenship (concussion/hand) did not practice. LB Azeez Al-Shaair (groin), TE Brevin Jordan (finger/foot) and OT Braden Smith (ankle) were limited. Montgomery’s availability affects the backfield workload; Smith and Al-Shaair are important protection and defensive watches.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

CB Justin Walley, TE Drew Ogletree and LB Akeem Davis-Gaither all missed practice with knee injuries. Those are the injury-related absences to monitor; the other prominent Wednesday absences were scheduled rest. Walley’s progress matters against Dallas’ receiving group.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS

RB Bhayshul Tuten (ankle/foot) and DE Travon Walker (ribs) are QUESTIONABLE Thursday. Tuten missed practice all week, and Liam Coen described him as a game-time decision. Chris Rodriguez Jr. would be positioned for additional work if Tuten cannot play. Walker’s availability matters to Jacksonville’s pressure against Baltimore’s inexperienced quarterback.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

DL Peter Woods (neck) did not practice. CB Mansoor Delane (shoulder), TE Travis Kelce (ankle), WR Rashee Rice (hamstring/knee), WR Nikko Remigio (hip) and DT Omarr Norman-Lott (knee) were limited. Woods is the main non-participant; Kelce and Rice have not been ruled out.

LAS VEGAS RAIDERS

Starting CB Darien Porter did not practice after suffering a groin injury Sunday. His availability remains unsettled. If he cannot play at San Francisco, Las Vegas would again need replacement snaps at outside cornerback.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

CB Deane Leonard (concussion), WR Brenen Thompson (quadriceps/hamstring) and S Kendall Williamson (calf) did not practice.

G Kayode Awosika (fibula), TE David Njoku (fibula), LBs Daiyan Henley (shoulder) and Denzel Perryman (pectoral), CBs Donte Jackson and Rodney Shelley (hamstrings), and EDGE Bud Dupree (illness) were limited. Several coverage and linebacker roles remain uncertain against Houston.

LOS ANGELES RAMS

CB Jaylen Watson needs shoulder surgery and will miss the remainder of the season. That is a confirmed loss to the secondary.

Myles Garrett and TE Terrance Ferguson returned to practice as they work toward potential returns. Their participation is encouraging, but it does not establish Sunday availability.

MIAMI DOLPHINS

RB Jaylen Wright (quadriceps) did not practice. RB Kaytron Allen (quadriceps), DL Zach Sieler (shoulder), EDGE Chop Robinson (knee), EDGE Malik Herring (neck), TE Will Kacmarek (hamstring), safeties Michael Taaffe (wrist) and Dante Trader Jr. (shoulder), and LS Tucker Addington (shoulder) were limited. The defensive-front limitations deserve attention against Detroit.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS

QB Kyler Murray (hamstring), LT Christian Darrisaw (shoulder) and S Theo Jackson (quadriceps) are the principal watches before Monday’s Buffalo game. Murray has not been ruled out. Thursday’s first formal report should provide a clearer picture.

NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

WR A.J. Brown (ankle/knee), TE Hunter Henry (foot), RB TreVeyon Henderson (illness) and DT Christian Barmore (illness) did not practice.

WR Mack Hollins (calf), S Kevin Byard (chest), CB Carlton Davis (neck), OLB Gabe Jacas (knee), LB Dre’Mont Jones (shoulder/knee), OT Morgan Moses (foot) and C/G Greg Van Roten (hamstring) were limited. Brown and Henry are the biggest receiving concerns; neither has a final Sunday designation yet.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS

RB Alvin Kamara was a non-participant with rest/back listed. RB CJ Donaldson (shoulder/concussion), OT Kelvin Banks Jr. (ankle), OL Asim Richards (thumb), CB Martin Emerson (shin) and WR Jordyn Tyson (hamstring) were limited. Kamara’s progress and the tackle situation are the main offensive watches against Cleveland.

NEW YORK GIANTS

RB Cam Skattebo (hamstring) and OLB Abdul Carter (illness) did not practice. OTs Andrew Thomas (groin) and Jermaine Eluemunor (calf) were limited, along with LB Malik Harrison (groin), CB Colton Hood (illness) and WR Charlie Jones (hand). Skattebo and both starting tackles are important to the rushing attack and pass protection at Philadelphia.

NEW YORK JETS

WR Garrett Wilson is in concussion protocol and missed practice. RB Breece Hall (quadriceps) was limited and is trending toward a possible return, rather than being confirmed available. LB David Bailey (groin), EDGE Joseph Ossai (ankle) and TE Mason Taylor (back) were also limited. Wilson’s clearance is the biggest receiving issue before Kansas City.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Seven players missed practice with injuries: RB Saquon Barkley (hamstring/back), WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring), WR Dontayvion Wicks (ankle), LB Jihaad Campbell (hamstring/quadriceps), DB Michael Carter (abdomen), CB Jonathan Jones (hamstring) and WR/returner Britain Covey (knee).

The combined offensive absences could restrict Philadelphia’s available weapons against the Giants. Wednesday’s report does not yet establish who will miss Sunday.

PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Week 9 bye. No game-status designation is required this week.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

RB Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) and WR Mike Evans (Achilles tendinitis) did not practice Wednesday. McCaffrey remains hopeful of playing. WR Deebo Samuel’s hamstring recovery remains a concern, with a return this week considered unlikely.

DE Nick Bosa (calf) returned on a limited basis, while WR Demarcus Robinson also resumed practice after an ankle injury. Those potential returns would help, but neither should be treated as a confirmed activation or full workload.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

QB Sam Darnold is OUT against Arizona with a quadriceps injury. Drew Lock is expected to start, but his own elbow recovery still needs attention during the week. Jalen Milroe will be prepared as the backup. Seattle described Darnold as week-to-week and is not placing him on injured reserve.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

EDGE YaYa Diaby will miss at least this week with a knee/MCL injury. WR Emeka Egbuka (foot) did not practice Wednesday, although he ran on a side field. His availability remains unresolved heading into Chicago.

TENNESSEE TITANS

Week 9 bye. No game-status designation is required this week.

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS

Defensive linemen Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw, along with RB Jeremy McNichols, have been placed on injured reserve. Washington expects the absences to be long term, with Payne and Kinlaw leaving a particularly significant hole in the defensive interior. Replacement personnel will be tested against the Rams’ running game and protection schemes.
