NFL INJURY UPDATE — SEPTEMBER 14, 2026
Monday produced more diagnoses and coach updates than full practice reports. Most teams that played Sunday held recovery sessions, making Wednesday’s participation reports the next major checkpoint.
ATLANTA FALCONS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand will miss the remainder of the season with a quad injury that requires surgery. Starting right guard Chris Lindstrom entered concussion protocol. Atlanta did not provide a new update on quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa or Michael Penix Jr.
BETTING IMPACT: The unresolved quarterback situation remains Atlanta’s biggest concern. Lindstrom’s availability also matters for both pass protection and the running game.
BALTIMORE RAVENS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Wide receiver Zay Flowers is considered day-to-day with a hamstring injury. Initial testing reportedly showed no major damage. Rookie receiver Ja’Kobi Lane could miss additional time with a wrist injury.
BETTING IMPACT: Flowers is the player to monitor. Any limitation would increase the opportunities available to Rashod Bateman and Baltimore’s other receivers.
CAROLINA PANTHERS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Wide receiver Jalen Coker was in a walking boot Monday after suffering an ankle injury. No timetable has been established.
BETTING IMPACT: Coker’s potential absence would open additional snaps and targets for Xavier Legette and the rest of Carolina’s receiving rotation.
CLEVELAND BROWNS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Running back Dylan Sampson is still being evaluated for a knee injury. Starting left guard Zion Johnson received encouraging initial news after returning to Sunday’s game, but his Week 2 status remains uncertain.
BETTING IMPACT: Johnson is the more important piece for Cleveland’s offense. His availability affects the Browns’ protection and projected rushing efficiency.
DALLAS COWBOYS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Starting safety Malik Hooker sustained a fractured forearm and will receive a specialist’s evaluation. Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown suffered a hamstring strain and is expected to miss time.
BETTING IMPACT: Dallas could be without two defensive starters in Week 2, weakening the middle and back end of the defense.
DETROIT LIONS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Running back Isiah Pacheco underwent back surgery and is expected to miss significant time.
BETTING IMPACT: Jahmyr Gibbs should control an even larger percentage of Detroit’s backfield work, while Sione Vaki becomes more important to the remaining rotation.
HOUSTON TEXANS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Starting linebacker Henry To’oTo’o is expected to miss time with a shoulder injury. The team has not decided whether he will be placed on injured reserve. Linebacker Jake Hummel is week-to-week with a groin injury.
BETTING IMPACT: Houston’s linebacker depth has taken a significant hit. Jake Hansen is the likely replacement for To’oTo’o, creating a potential downgrade against the run and in underneath coverage.
LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Tight end Brock Bowers and cornerback Darien Porter were both categorized as day-to-day.
BETTING IMPACT: Bowers is the key name. Michael Mayer would continue to handle an expanded receiving role if Bowers cannot return this week.
LOS ANGELES CHARGERS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Wide receiver Ladd McConkey underwent testing on his injured ribs and is considered day-to-day. The team did not offer a prediction on his Week 2 availability.
BETTING IMPACT: McConkey’s practice participation will directly affect the Chargers’ receiving projections and individual player-prop markets.
LOS ANGELES RAMS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Edge rusher Myles Garrett underwent arthroscopic knee surgery and was placed on injured reserve. He will miss at least four games, and the Rams have not established a firm return date.
BETTING IMPACT: Losing Garrett creates a major downgrade for the Rams’ pass rush and overall defensive rating.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Quarterback Kyler Murray remains in concussion protocol following Sunday’s game. His availability will be determined by his progress through the league’s required steps.
BETTING IMPACT: This is one of the week’s biggest quarterback situations. Carson Wentz is next in line if Murray is not cleared, making Minnesota’s practice reports critical to the Week 2 line.
NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Wide receiver A.J. Brown was placed on injured reserve with a high ankle sprain and is expected to miss multiple weeks. Running back TreVeyon Henderson returned to practice Monday for the first time since suffering an ankle injury in August.
BETTING IMPACT: Brown’s absence redistributes targets throughout New England’s receiving corps. Henderson’s return could change the backfield workload if he progresses enough to play.
NEW YORK JETS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick suffered a groin strain, while rookie receiver Omar Cooper Jr. sustained an ankle injury. Initial X-rays on Cooper were negative, but a high-ankle sprain remains a concern.
BETTING IMPACT: Fitzpatrick’s availability matters most to the Jets’ defensive projection. Cooper’s absence would reduce an already thin receiving rotation.
SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS
WHAT WAS REPORTED: Starting rookie receiver De’Zhaun Stribling sustained a deltoid ankle sprain and is expected to miss at least one month.
BETTING IMPACT: San Francisco’s receiving depth is already being tested. Mike Evans, Deebo Samuel and the remaining receivers should see additional opportunities while Stribling is sidelined.
