COLLEGE FOOTBALL MAJOR INJURY AND NEWS REPORT — SEPTEMBER 15, 2026

This report covers the most recent, betting-relevant injuries and major personnel developments across college football. Players already cleared without a meaningful role change have been excluded.

1. ALABAMA

OL Michael Carroll — Undisclosed — The starting guard missed the Kentucky game. Kalen DeBoer said Carroll is progressing toward a return, but his availability against Florida State will depend on practice.

RB AK Dear — Lower body — Dear returned to limited work last week. His status remains uncertain.

WR Noah Rogers — Lower body — Rogers traveled to Kentucky but did not play. Alabama previously indicated his return could still be one or two weeks away.

BETTING IMPACT: Carroll is the most important name because of his effect on pass protection and the running game. Dear and Rogers primarily affect Alabama’s skill-position rotation and player props.

2. BAYLOR

QB DJ Lagway — Ankle — Lagway missed the Prairie View A&M game. Dave Aranda said he felt good Sunday and was expected to resume work this week, but Baylor is still evaluating him before Saturday’s game against Louisiana Tech.

DT Devonte Tezino — Leg — Tezino suffered a severe injury against Prairie View A&M and will miss the remainder of the season.

BETTING IMPACT: Lagway is the primary situation to monitor. Nate Bennett played well in his absence, but Lagway’s availability changes Baylor’s offensive ceiling and quarterback props. Tezino’s loss weakens the defensive-line rotation.

3. FLORIDA

WR Eric Singleton Jr. — Ankle — Singleton missed Florida’s last game and was still limited when the Gators returned to practice. His status against Auburn remains uncertain.

BETTING IMPACT: Singleton is one of Florida’s most explosive receiving options. His absence would reduce the vertical passing threat and could shift targets toward the remaining receivers.

4. LOUISVILLE

RB Keyjuan Brown — Undisclosed — Brown was injured against Villanova and finished with only one carry. Jeff Brohm said he is hopeful Brown will be available against SMU, but his status has not been confirmed.

BETTING IMPACT: Brown’s availability affects Louisville’s backfield rotation and rushing props. The Cardinals have alternatives, so this is more important for player usage than the full-game spread.

5. NOTRE DAME

DL Jason Onye — Ankle — Onye has been ruled out against Michigan State and is expected to miss additional time.

S Brauntae Johnson — Foot — Johnson has also been ruled out against Michigan State and is expected to remain sidelined for multiple weeks.

BETTING IMPACT: Notre Dame loses depth at two levels of its defense. Onye’s absence matters against the run, while Johnson’s absence reduces flexibility in the secondary.

6. OREGON

TE Jamari Johnson — Undisclosed — Johnson missed the Oklahoma State game after being injured in the opener. Oregon has not provided a firm return date.

BETTING IMPACT: This primarily affects Oregon’s tight-end rotation, blocking packages and secondary receiving options. It is not currently a major point-spread adjustment.

7. SOUTH CAROLINA

EDGE Dylan Stewart — Back — Stewart has not played this season. Shane Beamer said he is moving in the right direction, but his status against Mississippi State remains uncertain.

BETTING IMPACT: Stewart is one of the most impactful defensive players on this list. His return would significantly improve South Carolina’s pass rush. No adjustment should be made until his availability is confirmed.

8. TENNESSEE

TE Ethan Davis — Knee — Davis suffered a torn ACL against Georgia Tech and will miss the remainder of the season.

BETTING IMPACT: Tennessee loses an experienced starting tight end who contributed as both a receiver and blocker. The injury affects red-zone personnel and the offense’s flexibility more than the overall point spread.

9. TEXAS

TE Nick Townsend — Knee — Townsend left the Ohio State game and did not return. Texas is continuing to evaluate the injury, with no timetable announced.

DL Justus Terry — Foot — Terry suffered an injury during pregame warmups and was unable to play against Ohio State. His return date remains uncertain.

BETTING IMPACT: Townsend’s absence would change the tight-end rotation. Terry is the more important full-game injury because of his role along the defensive front, particularly against the run.

10. TULSA

QB Baylor Hayes — Knee — Hayes has been ruled out against East Texas A&M with a knee sprain. Veteran Dexter Williams II will start, and Hayes is expected to return against Arkansas.

BETTING IMPACT: Tulsa is making a confirmed quarterback change. Williams has starting experience, but Hayes’ absence lowers the offense’s continuity and should be considered in first-half and team-total markets.

11. UCF

QB Alonza Barnett III — Hamstring — Barnett suffered what Scott Frost described as a significant hamstring injury against Pittsburgh. His timetable remains uncertain, and UCF has not named its starter against Georgia State.

BETTING IMPACT: This is one of the week’s most important quarterback situations. Keyone Jenkins has extensive starting experience, but Barnett’s absence would remove a major rushing threat and alter UCF’s offensive approach.

12. VANDERBILT

QB Jared Curtis — Starting quarterback change — The five-star freshman is expected to make his first career start Saturday against NC State. This is a performance-based change rather than an injury replacement.

BETTING IMPACT: Curtis adds greater upside and playmaking potential, but his first collegiate start also introduces uncertainty. The change matters for Vanderbilt’s team total, quarterback props and overall offensive projection.

College Football Major Injury Report — September 14

COLLEGE FOOTBALL MAJOR INJURY REPORT

This report covers the significant active injuries most likely to affect Week 3 sides, totals, team totals and player props.

BAYLOR

DJ Lagway — Quarterback — MONITOR

WHAT WAS REPORTED

Lagway suffered a high-ankle sprain in Baylor’s opener and missed Saturday’s game against Prairie View A&M. He is targeting a return against Louisiana Tech, but he has not been cleared.

BETTING IMPACT

Lagway’s mobility is a major part of Baylor’s offense. Even if he returns, a limited ankle could reduce designed quarterback runs, scrambling and Baylor’s ability to create explosive plays. Nate Bennett would start again if Lagway remains out.

BOSTON COLLEGE

Bodie Kahoun — Linebacker — MONITOR

WHAT WAS REPORTED

Kahoun was taken off on a stretcher and transported to a hospital after suffering a serious injury against Rutgers. Boston College confirmed that he had movement in all extremities. No football timetable has been announced.

BETTING IMPACT

Kahoun is a major part of the Boston College defense. He should be treated as unavailable until the school provides a further medical update.

CLEMSON

Christopher Vizzina — Quarterback — OUT

WHAT WAS REPORTED

Vizzina injured his non-throwing elbow against Georgia Southern and is expected to miss one to two weeks. Freshman Tait Reynolds will start against North Carolina.

BETTING IMPACT

This is a confirmed quarterback change. Reynolds has received playing time, but Clemson loses continuity and experience in the passing game.

INDIANA

Nick Marsh — Wide Receiver — MONITOR

WHAT WAS REPORTED

Marsh dressed against Howard but was not used during Indiana’s opening offensive possessions. His undisclosed injury and Week 3 availability remain unresolved.

BETTING IMPACT

Marsh is one of Indiana’s top receiving options. His practice participation will be important for passing projections and receiver props against Western Kentucky.

JAMES MADISON

JC Evans — Quarterback — OUT

WHAT WAS REPORTED

Evans is expected to miss several weeks with a wrist injury. Camden Coleman has taken over as the starting quarterback.

BETTING IMPACT

James Madison now takes its backup quarterback into a road game at San Diego State. This is a meaningful adjustment against a much stronger opponent than Wagner.

MINNESOTA

Darius Taylor — Running Back — MONITOR

WHAT WAS REPORTED

Taylor left the loss to Mississippi State after playing only 16 snaps. Head coach P.J. Fleck called him day-to-day.

BETTING IMPACT

Minnesota faces Akron, so the injury may not create a major side adjustment. It is important for Taylor’s rushing and receiving props and for the entire Minnesota backfield rotation.

NOTRE DAME

Brauntae Johnson — Safety — OUT
Jason Onye — Defensive Tackle — OUT

WHAT WAS REPORTED

Both defensive starters are expected to miss multiple weeks. Notre Dame expects them back this season, but neither is expected to play this week.

BETTING IMPACT

Johnson’s absence affects the secondary while Onye’s absence weakens the interior defensive rotation. Michigan State’s offensive matchup improves if both remain unavailable as expected.

RUTGERS

Dylan Lonergan — Quarterback — MONITOR

WHAT WAS REPORTED

Lonergan has been dealing with an undisclosed injury and was unable to practice before the Boston College game. AJ Surace replaced him as the starter. Lonergan’s status against USC remains uncertain.

BETTING IMPACT

Rutgers has an unresolved quarterback situation entering a major step up in competition. Surace may retain the job regardless, but practice reports should determine whether Lonergan is healthy enough to compete.

UCF

Alonza Barnett III — Quarterback — OUT

WHAT WAS REPORTED

Barnett suffered a hamstring injury late in UCF’s loss to Pittsburgh and is expected to miss multiple weeks. Keyone Jenkins is expected to start against Georgia State.

BETTING IMPACT

This is the largest confirmed quarterback injury adjustment currently available. UCF loses Barnett’s experience and mobility, affecting the full-game line, team total, passing projections and rushing distribution.

MAIN TAKEAWAY

The confirmed quarterback changes at UCF, Clemson and James Madison are the biggest immediate market adjustments.

DJ Lagway is the most important possible return to monitor. Darius Taylor and Nick Marsh are the leading skill-position workload concerns entering the practice week.
