MLB Weather Report — September 7, 2026
There is no serious rainout threat anywhere on today’s 11-game schedule. The real weather story is the afternoon heat in Kansas City, with a couple of secondary offensive spots in Sacramento, San Diego and Los Angeles.
BIGGEST WEATHER IMPACT
ARIZONA DIAMONDBACKS AT KANSAS CITY ROYALS
First pitch: 2:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: 92 degrees at first pitch, approximately 47% humidity, no meaningful rain threat and an 8–11 mph wind blowing across the field. Temperatures could climb to 95–96 degrees during the game.
BETTING IMPACT
This is the one game where the weather deserves to be part of the handicap. Kauffman Stadium used to play like a clear pitcher’s park, but the fences were moved in before the 2025 season and the park now plays much closer to neutral.
The wind is crossing the field rather than pushing directly toward the fences, so this is not a classic wind-driven over. The bigger factor is several hours of direct afternoon heat. The ball should carry better, and the conditions could become uncomfortable for both starters as the game moves along. If either pitcher is vulnerable to hard contact or has a limited workload, the weather makes the bullpen matchup more important.
UNDER-THE-RADAR HITTING CONDITIONS
TORONTO BLUE JAYS AT ATHLETICS
First pitch: 10:05 p.m. ET
Forecast: 84 degrees, approximately 24% humidity, no rain and very light winds at 1–3 mph, mostly blowing in.
BETTING IMPACT
The wind is too light to hurt the baseball, leaving Toronto and the Athletics in warm, still air at a minor-league park. Sutter Health Park can become difficult for pitchers when Sacramento remains hot and the usual evening Delta breeze fails to develop.
The temperature will fall as the game continues, but the opening innings should offer better carry than the light inward wind might suggest. This is not an automatic over, but it is a more favorable offensive setup than the raw wind reading makes it appear.
WASHINGTON NATIONALS AT SAN DIEGO PADRES
First pitch: 5:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: 85 degrees, approximately 61% humidity, a 2–4% rain chance and winds blowing across the field at 10–14 mph.
BETTING IMPACT
Petco Park usually suppresses power because of its cool, dense marine air. Today is different. A first-pitch temperature in the mid-80s is unusually warm for this ballpark and should give hitters better carry than they normally receive in San Diego.
The wind is mostly crossing the field, so it does not create a clean home-run boost. The warm air simply makes Petco less pitcher-friendly than usual. Weather upgrades the hitting environment, but it does not completely erase the park’s natural under lean.
CINCINNATI REDS AT LOS ANGELES DODGERS
First pitch: 9:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: 81 degrees, approximately 55% humidity, a 2% rain chance and winds blowing out toward left-center at approximately 7–10 mph early.
BETTING IMPACT
A southwest breeze blowing toward left-center is a normal Dodger Stadium pattern, not an extreme weather event. The combination of warm air and a light outward wind should help carry early, but the breeze is expected to weaken considerably as the game progresses.
This is a modest upgrade for right-handed pull power and hitters capable of driving the ball toward left-center. It is supportive of offense without being strong enough to make the weather the deciding factor on the total.
WIND WATCH
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS AT SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS
First pitch: 8:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: Around 70 degrees, approximately 63% humidity, no rain and a westerly wind blowing toward right field and McCovey Cove at approximately 8–13 mph early.
BETTING IMPACT
This needs some context. A westerly breeze toward right field is normal at Oracle Park. Even with that wind, the cold marine air, deep dimensions and heavy nighttime conditions make Oracle one of baseball’s toughest home-run parks.
The breeze can help left-handed hitters who drive the ball toward right field, but 8–13 mph is not unusual enough to turn this into a strong over environment. The wind is also expected to fade later in the game. This is a small boost to right-field carry—not a reason by itself to abandon the park’s normal pitcher-friendly profile.
LOW-IMPACT CONDITIONS
ATLANTA BRAVES AT PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES
First pitch: 1:05 p.m. ET
Forecast: 77 degrees, approximately 47% humidity, no rain and light winds at 3–6 mph, blowing mostly in or across the field.
BETTING IMPACT
Citizens Bank Park already favors home runs because of its dimensions, but today’s weather is not adding much to that advantage. The light north-to-northwest breeze provides a slight counterweight to the hitter-friendly park. Overall, this is close to a neutral weather setup.
LOS ANGELES ANGELS AT BOSTON RED SOX
First pitch: 1:35 p.m. ET
Forecast: 76 degrees, approximately 45% humidity, no rain and winds blowing across the field at 7–10 mph.
BETTING IMPACT
The northwest breeze should move mostly across Fenway rather than directly in or out. Fenway’s unusual dimensions can make crosswinds tricky near the Green Monster, but this is not the warm, humid, wind-out combination that normally produces the park’s biggest offensive boost.
The conditions are comfortable and clean. Weather should not drive the side or total.
CLEVELAND GUARDIANS AT BALTIMORE ORIOLES
First pitch: 1:35 p.m. ET
Forecast: 79 degrees, approximately 45% humidity, no rain and light winds blowing in at 3–5 mph.
BETTING IMPACT
Camden Yards can play small when the air is humid and the wind pushes toward the outfield, especially after the left-field wall was moved back in before the 2025 season. Today does not have that setup.
The inward breeze is light, but it removes any weather-based offensive boost. This is a neutral-to-slightly pitcher-friendly forecast, with the matchup carrying far more weight than the weather.
MINNESOTA TWINS AT DETROIT TIGERS
First pitch: 3:10 p.m. ET
Forecast: 77 degrees, approximately 48% humidity, no rain and winds blowing across the field at 7–8 mph, possibly turning slightly inward later.
BETTING IMPACT
Comerica Park’s deep center field makes wind direction important, but it generally takes a stronger breeze blowing straight out to noticeably open up the park. Today’s wind is mostly crossing the field and may turn inward late.
There is no strong weather edge here. If anything, the later conditions offer a slight benefit to fly-ball pitchers.
ROOF GAMES
NEW YORK METS AT MIAMI MARLINS
First pitch: 1:10 p.m. ET
Outside forecast: 88 degrees, approximately 77% humidity, elevated afternoon rain chances and winds around 4–6 mph.
BETTING IMPACT
This is exactly the kind of hot, humid and stormy Miami afternoon that normally keeps the roof closed at loanDepot park. Under closed-roof conditions, the game should be played around 72 degrees with no wind.
Unless the Marlins unexpectedly announce an open roof, the outside weather has no betting impact.
CHICAGO CUBS AT MILWAUKEE BREWERS
First pitch: 2:10 p.m. ET
Outside forecast: 76 degrees, approximately 55% humidity, no rain and winds around 7–10 mph.
BETTING IMPACT
Roof status determines the environment at American Family Field. The outside weather is comfortable enough for the roof to be opened, but the park plays much more predictably when it is closed.
This is a roof-status check rather than a weather concern. There is no rain threat, and nothing in the outdoor forecast creates a major betting edge.
BOTTOM LINE
Arizona–Kansas City has the clearest weather-based boost for offense because of the extreme afternoon heat and Kauffman Stadium’s shorter fences.
Toronto–Athletics is the sneaky warm-weather game. Sacramento is hot, the wind is nearly dead and Sutter Health Park can play favorably for hitters when the evening Delta breeze does not arrive.
Washington–San Diego and Cincinnati–Los Angeles receive smaller offensive upgrades.
The wind in San Francisco helps balls hit toward right field, but it is a normal Oracle Park pattern and does not suddenly make the stadium hitter-friendly.
There are no significant rain delays or postponements expected.
