MONDAY NFL INJURY REPORT — WEEK 5 KEY UPDATES

The Week 5 injury board has several situations capable of affecting the betting market, led by quarterback uncertainty in Baltimore and Washington. Cincinnati’s receiving corps, the Chargers’ offensive line and Denver’s secondary are among the other major situations to monitor as the practice week begins.

ARIZONA CARDINALS

Arizona lost starting left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. for the season with a torn biceps. Guard Isaiah Adams is also dealing with an ankle injury, giving the Cardinals a developing offensive-line concern entering the Detroit matchup.

BALTIMORE RAVENS

Lamar Jackson remains the biggest injury story in Baltimore after leaving Sunday with a left ankle injury. Jackson is considered day-to-day, and his Week 5 status against Atlanta remains unsettled.

Baltimore also lost starting corner Marlon Humphrey and starting right guard Andrew Vorhees on Sunday. The Jackson situation is the one that matters most to the betting market, which has already reacted heavily to the possibility of Tyler Huntley starting.

BUFFALO BILLS

Buffalo is monitoring wide receiver DJ Moore’s shoulder and defensive tackle Ed Oliver’s knee after both were injured Sunday.

Oliver is the more important defensive piece to watch heading into the Rams matchup.

CHICAGO BEARS

Caleb Williams remains out with the hamstring injury, and Tyson Bagent will start against Green Bay.

There is no quarterback mystery here — Bears-Packers should be handicapped with Bagent under center.

CINCINNATI BENGALS

Ja’Marr Chase is in concussion protocol after leaving Sunday’s game. Tee Higgins is day-to-day with an adductor injury and still has a chance to play against Miami.

This is one of the biggest skill-position clusters on the board. Cincinnati’s passing-game outlook changes significantly if Chase and Higgins are both unavailable.

DENVER BRONCOS

Patrick Surtain II avoided a major ankle injury, but his Week 5 status against the Chargers remains uncertain. Fellow starting corner Riley Moss is also dealing with a rib injury.

Denver potentially being without both starting corners would create a significant secondary issue against Justin Herbert.

GREEN BAY PACKERS

Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper suffered an Achilles injury Sunday and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

That is a significant loss in the middle of Green Bay’s defense entering the Chicago matchup and going forward.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Kansas City took two hits at receiver Sunday. Rashee Rice left with a hamstring injury, while Tyquan Thornton suffered a dislocated ankle and is facing an extended absence.

Rice’s availability becomes much more important with Thornton expected to miss significant time.

LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

The Chargers have one of the biggest injury clusters in the league. Left tackle Rashawn Slater suffered a high-ankle sprain and is expected to miss multiple weeks, while right tackle Joe Alt left Sunday with a neck injury.

Wide receiver Ladd McConkey is also dealing with a foot injury. The two tackles are the biggest concern — Justin Herbert potentially playing without both starting tackles would be a major protection issue against Denver.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Minnesota is dealing with multiple offensive-line injuries. Guard Donovan Jackson is expected to miss extended time with a knee injury, while left tackle Christian Darrisaw is in concussion protocol.

The Vikings need Darrisaw back to avoid entering the New Orleans game with multiple significant losses up front.

NEW YORK GIANTS

Jaxson Dart remains unavailable with the knee injury, so the Giants continue to carry a quarterback downgrade entering the Washington matchup.

The quarterback situation is especially important because Washington has uncertainty of its own.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

Saquon Barkley’s Week 5 status remains uncertain after he left Sunday with a hamstring injury.

Philadelphia is already thin at running back, making Barkley’s practice participation one of the key things to monitor before the Jacksonville game.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS

Kyle Juszczyk suffered a knee injury Sunday and could miss time.

The injury matters more than a typical fullback absence because of Juszczyk’s role in Kyle Shanahan’s formations, blocking schemes and run-game personnel packages.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

Baker Mayfield remains out with the thumb injury, so Jalon Daniels will start Thursday night at Dallas.

Tampa Bay is also dealing with Antoine Winfield Jr.’s rib injury, leaving the Buccaneers without important pieces on both sides of the ball against Dallas.

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS

Jayden Daniels is working his way back from the left elbow injury, and Washington hopes to increase his practice workload this week with the goal of returning against the Giants.

Marcus Mariota injured his right knee Sunday, leaving rookie Athan Kaliakmanis as the next option if Daniels cannot return.

This is a major quarterback situation to monitor. Daniels returning would remove Washington’s quarterback downgrade. If Daniels cannot play and Mariota is also unavailable, the drop to Kaliakmanis would be considerably larger.
