The Cavaliers controlled the line of scrimmage and held NC State QB CJ Bailey to 12 completions on 23 attempts for only 84 yards. NC State’s leading running back, Jayden Scott, managed 20 yards on seven carries.
Virginia played without starting X receiver Rico Flores Jr. RB Solomon Beebe was also unavailable and remains suspended indefinitely. LB Kam Robinson entered the game as a major availability question while working back from an ACL injury.
NC State’s only notable listed absence was freshman WR Tyreek Copper.
BETTING TAKEAWAY — Virginia’s offensive line, running game and defense all deserve upgrades. The Cavaliers appear capable of winning without relying on a high-volume passing attack.

North Dakota State made an immediate statement in its first game as an FBS program.
The Bison held Jacksonville State to 170 total yards and a 2-for-10 performance on third down. Jacksonville State QB Caden Creel completed 12 of 23 passes for only 85 yards with an interception.
North Dakota State also controlled possession and consistently won the battle at the line of scrimmage.
Jacksonville State LB Walker O’Steen left after receiving treatment around his calf and did not return after the third quarter. O’Steen finished second on the team with 84 tackles last season.
LB Mac Sanders also left the game. No confirmed diagnosis or timetable has been announced for either linebacker.
BETTING TAKEAWAY — North Dakota State must immediately be treated as a legitimate FBS-level team. The Bison’s physicality, defense and home-field advantage could still be undervalued by the market.
Jacksonville State’s offense and offensive line require major downgrades. If O’Steen and Sanders miss additional time, the defense would also become vulnerable—particularly against opposing rushing attacks.

Eastern Michigan QB Noah Kim accounted for three touchdowns, throwing for two and rushing for another.
Sacramento State DB Naytel Mitchell was injured on a late kickoff. No diagnosis or timetable has been announced.
BETTING TAKEAWAY — Eastern Michigan’s defense deserves a modest upgrade, particularly against weaker rushing attacks.
