𝗔𝗞𝗥𝗢𝗡 — Projected starting quarterback Reese Poffenbarger will not play while awaiting an NCAA eligibility decision. This is not injury-related. Redshirt freshman Cibastian Broughton will make his first career start.

𝗕𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗧 — This is the most significant availability news among tonight’s games. Akron loses its experienced quarterback and will start an unproven freshman on the road.
