College Football Injury Report — September 6, 2026
Today’s FBS schedule features three games. The most important pending injury decision involves Notre Dame’s defensive leader, while Wisconsin enters its opener with movement along the offensive line.
WISCONSIN VS. NOTRE DAME

Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa, LB — Questionable
WHAT WAS REPORTED
Viliamu-Asa remains questionable as he completes his recovery from a knee injury. His availability may not be settled until Notre Dame releases its final pregame report.
BETTING IMPACT
This is the biggest injury decision of the day. Viliamu-Asa is one of Notre Dame’s best defenders and a major part of its run defense, pass rush and communication in the middle. His absence would improve Wisconsin’s chances of staying committed to the running game and sustaining drives.

Porter and the offensive-line absences are the most relevant. Notre Dame still has enough depth to function effectively, but the right side of the offensive line will be working with a reshuffled rotation.
WISCONSIN

Emerson Mandell, RG — Out
Jaylon Domingeaux, WR — Questionable
WHAT WAS REPORTED
Heywood is expected to return and start at right tackle, provided he gets through pregame warmups without a setback. Mandell will not play as he continues recovering from offseason foot surgery. Domingeaux remains questionable.
BETTING IMPACT
Getting Heywood back is a meaningful boost against Notre Dame’s defensive front. Mandell’s absence still leaves Wisconsin with a new combination on the right side of the line. Domingeaux is a vertical receiving threat, so his absence would reduce the Badgers’ ability to stretch the field and create explosive plays.
WASHINGTON STATE AT WASHINGTON

Peyton Read, TE — Expected out
WHAT WAS REPORTED
Read is expected to miss the Apple Cup after sitting out the final practices of camp. Washington State otherwise enters the opener in relatively good health.
BETTING IMPACT
Read is considered one of Washington State’s better pass-catching tight ends. His absence removes a useful middle-of-the-field target for new quarterback Caden Pinnick, particularly on third downs and in the red zone. It is a negative for the Cougars, but not a major standalone line-moving injury.
WASHINGTON
No major game-changing injury absence has been confirmed for the Huskies entering the Apple Cup.
LOUISVILLE VS. OLE MISS

OLE MISS
Ole Miss has not reported a major injury absence and is expected to have its primary starters available for the opener.
LOUISVILLE
No major game-changing absence has been confirmed in the public pregame reporting. Louisville’s final availability should still be monitored closer to kickoff.
BOTTOM LINE
The status to watch is Notre Dame linebacker Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa. Wisconsin’s offensive line is also important: Kevin Heywood is expected back, but Emerson Mandell is out. Washington State tight end Peyton Read is the only notable confirmed injury absence in the Apple Cup.
