College Football Weather Report — September 7, 2026

SMU at Florida State

Kickoff: 7:30 p.m. ET
Location: Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, Florida

FORECAST

Temperatures should be around 80–81 degrees at kickoff with humidity near 80–85%. Thunderstorms are possible during the hours leading into the game and remain a concern around kickoff. Rain chances are approximately 40% at 7 p.m. and 30% at 8 p.m., with light easterly winds around 4–5 mph.

BETTING IMPACT

Wind should not affect the passing or kicking games. The bigger issue is the timing of the thunderstorms. A heavy cell could leave the field wet, create slick-ball conditions or produce a lightning delay, but scattered Florida storms are difficult to project precisely.

This is not an automatic under based on the current forecast. The wind is too light, and rain alone does not guarantee lower scoring. Bettors should check the radar shortly before kickoff to see whether the storms are clearing Tallahassee or moving directly toward the stadium. If the strongest activity passes before kickoff, weather should have only a minor impact.
