NFL Injury Report — August 26
NFL INJURY REPORT — WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26
With the regular season approaching, several significant injuries around the league are worth monitoring from a betting perspective.
GIANTS — Calvin Austin III, WR: Austin suffered a torn ACL during Tuesday’s practice and will miss the entire 2026 season. The Giants lose a projected slot receiver and return option, creating additional opportunities throughout the receiving depth chart.
BENGALS — Ja’Marr Chase, WR: Chase hyperextended his left knee after landing awkwardly during Tuesday’s practice. Early indications are encouraging, and the injury is currently considered minor. There is no reason yet to make a meaningful Cincinnati power-rating adjustment, but his practice participation should be monitored.
LIONS — Sam LaPorta, TE: LaPorta returned to practice after dealing with a hip injury. His return is an encouraging sign for Week 1 and removes some concern surrounding one of Jared Goff’s most important targets.
CHARGERS — Tyler Biadasz, C: Biadasz has been placed on season-ending injured reserve after suffering ACL damage and additional damage to his left knee. This is one of the more significant offensive-line injuries of the preseason. Rookie Jake Slaughter is the leading replacement, and the situation is worth monitoring when evaluating Justin Herbert’s protection and the Chargers offense early in the season.
BUCCANEERS — Rueben Bain Jr., EDGE: Tampa Bay’s first-round pick suffered an AC-joint sprain during Tuesday’s joint practice with Jacksonville. The injury is not considered serious, and Bain is currently expected to be available for Week 1.
BEARS — Darnell Wright, RT: Wright left Tuesday’s practice early with an elbow issue. Early indications are encouraging, but his practice participation remains worth watching. As Chicago’s starting right tackle, his availability matters for offensive-line continuity and pass protection.
SEAHAWKS: Seattle has taken several depth hits. WR Jake Bobo and S Bud Clark have landed on season-ending injured reserve, while OL Mason Richman has also gone to injured reserve with a serious right-leg injury. None of these are major individual point-spread adjustments, but the accumulation of injuries is worth tracking.
OTHER INJURIES WE’RE MONITORING: Ashton Jeanty’s ankle sprain in Las Vegas is not considered a major injury, while the Jets continue to monitor Breece Hall’s groin and the Saints are watching Alvin Kamara’s knee. San Francisco also continues to work George Kittle back from Achilles rehab. These situations become increasingly important as teams transition from preseason evaluation to Week 1 preparation.
BETTING TAKEAWAY: The injuries with the clearest potential early-season betting impact remain the major offensive-line losses, starting-caliber skill-position injuries and any issue that threatens Week 1 availability. We’ll continue updating these situations as practice participation and Week 1 statuses become clearer.
